I made this composition quite some time ago, I think it was spring 2003 :-) But I just wanted to post it here, in the "new" gallery.
There's nothing much to say about the process of making it, I simply took the original lego plan, deconstructed the real model and followed the instructions to build both, the real model and the CG one brick by brick! There's actually around 1000 of them. It took me whole weekend from scratch to finish.
It was made in 3ds max 5 and rendered using the "new" GI engine Light Tracer. It took around 11 hours to render mainly because of the raytracing and Soft-Shadows. Everything was composited in Photoshop afterwards.
