Lensha | Training Dvds Girl

I just finished this piece as a demonstration of what can be done with the character I created on my training DVDs.
I aimed for photorealism, however, I admit the render is a bit stylised.
Also, please, check out these close-ups:
And if you want to, you can download the print-size poster! (4.5MB jpeg)
And a little bit of the "behind-the-scenes" on this project Right Click > Save As: RARed QuickTime movie | 16MB

Glasses | Shader Test

This render is a quick test of my next version of a glass shader I composed in finalRender Stage-1 which I'll make available for free download on my web as a part of my next fR mats set. There's nothing much to say about the scene, it was a real quickie The models are very simple, the scene is simple, the shaders are a bit more in depth, the lighting was made by hand (no GI) and all was then composed in Photoshop to this finish.
I hope you'll like

[character] Lost Soul From Doom3

Credits: The original artwork is copyright of id software made by KENNETH SCOTT.
I made this image originally for EXPOSE III, but since I didn't make the deadline by a day :( I post it here at least. The image is originally 5000x3750 pixels, because I was aiming for the highes quality and therefor the final geometry count is around 3M poly, the smallest texture is 1000x1000 pixels, the largest texture is 6000x6000 pixels and the whole project took 4GB of space on my HDD (mainly due to the textures). Here are some of the close-ups of 1:1 scale:

El Diablo Delincuente

Hi there,
First of all, I have to give full credits for the concept design for this character, which was done by ALEX ALVAREZ. I didn't want to steal his idea, not at all, I got his drawings from a friend of mine who wanted to see how to model from sketches, at the time, since I'm not a MAYA user, I haden't seen those images nor the model before, so, I hope Alex or you guys won't get mad at me
If you want to see all of my wip images and also some animation tests which I did you can check out this wip theread hear at CGTalk. LINK
As for the techinque. Most of it is described in the wip thread but I write it in short here as well. I started with a plane (as from 99% I always do) and by extruding I got this very heavy mesh (almost 10,000 polygons unmeshsmoothed) which you can see HERE. Then I did countless tests with shaders, lighting and textures to get the result I was after. After that, I'd decided to do some animation tests and also the rig, you can see all of that in the wip thread. In the end, because I'm really short on my spare time, I at least wanted to finish a single illustration with this guy and since it had always had to be a humorous animation/illustration I chose this theme. I hope the title of this image fully describes the looks of the demon and the theme as well.
Hope you will like it and enjoy it at least as much as I enjoyed making it and also post some comments.
Thank you, cheers...

[photo Composition] :

I made this composition quite some time ago, I think it was spring 2003 :-) But I just wanted to post it here, in the "new" gallery.
There's nothing much to say about the process of making it, I simply took the original lego plan, deconstructed the real model and followed the instructions to build both, the real model and the CG one brick by brick! There's actually around 1000 of them. It took me whole weekend from scratch to finish.
It was made in 3ds max 5 and rendered using the "new" GI engine Light Tracer. It took around 11 hours to render mainly because of the raytracing and Soft-Shadows. Everything was composited in Photoshop afterwards.
Some more images:
Hope you like...
